REVIEW: MOOR SPA Professional-Grade Clean Beauty Products

In my decades long search for clear skin, I have learned a lot. I have done ALL the no-no’s (picking, popping, applying gluey pore strips and stripping with harsh chemical cleansers). I’ve also used medical-grade products, just short of requiring a prescription to access them.

In the end, I had to learn what the underlying issues were and treat those root causes, and I also needed to switch out my skincare products. I tried A LOT of products and some were not only ineffective, they were toxic. Eek! I realized the health of my skin care products was ESSENTIAL to my overall health, and since I’ve discovered that, I’ve never looked back.

That being said, there’s a lot even in the natural skincare industry that can be either misleading (not actually natural) or ineffective (like coconut oil for my skin type – yikes!).

That’s why I love CertClean. CertClean is North America’s leading certification system for safer skincare. If CertClean is on the label, you know that a product is free from ingredients that are potentially cancer-causing, hormone-disrupting, or harmful to other systems in the body. They do a lot of the research for you, and help provide confidence in choosing a product that is safer for your skin, and your body.

When I got the opportunity from CertClean to try out Moor Spa professional products, I jumped at the chance. I’m always looking for natural alternatives to professional or drugstore brands.

I received three Moor Spa products to review: Kelp Enzyme Mask, Hydrating Serum, and Nourishing Face Oil. Overall, I was super impressed!

Here’s why:

Kelp Enzyme Mask

Clay masks used to be my jam. They dried my skin out, so I thought it was the best thing for my excessively oily skin. Now that I’m all grown up, I realized that’s the opposite of what I should be doing. Now, I LOVE doing occasional masks to clarify and cleanse, and always make sure to moisturize after!

The ingredients in Moor Spa Kelp Enzyme Mask are all naturally-derived. Actually, all Moor Spa products are naturally-derived with a foundation of pure, organic Moor mud from Austria. How cool is that?

I love the combination of clay and enzyme in this mask.

One note on that enzyme component…

I should have expected this to happen, but since I love a tingling enzyme mask, I left it on for a good 15 mins. Let me also preface this by saying I have sensitive skin.

When I finally wiped it off, I was left with a bit of redness on my temples and part of my cheeks. Not the most ideal if you’re expecting to be seen in public shortly after doing this mask! (Lol)

I applied Moor Spa Hydrating Serum to really give my skin a good drink. Solved.

My skin definitely felt super soft and smooth after the mask and felt very clean. I loved it!

The next time I used it, I made sure to put it on for a little less time and I also noticed it tingled less anyway. I think it’s because it had been embarrassingly long since I’d seen my aesthetician and had a good peel, so the mask definitely did what it was supposed to the first time!

I think my experience attests to the fact that this is a legit professional grade product that does what it is supposed to (and it being natural also, makes me and my skin super joyful).

Hydrating Serum

As I mentioned, the Hydrating Serum saved my face after I over-dosed on the mask! Lol It’s a really nice feel on the skin and applies really nicely. It’s not greasy and it feels hydrating and revitalizing, but without feeling heavy. It’s super light and my skin loved it!

It has vitamin C, which is a building block of collagen, and hyaluronic acid, which your skin just drinks up and uses to repair itself with. Much needed!

Not much else to say! It replaced my other professional line product easily. It’s made from naturally-derived ingredients, so that’s a win. Plus, I LOVE that the packaging is biodegradable! Seriously, it is (even the lid)! If it can’t be glass, I want it to be biodegradable.

Nourishing Facial Oil

This had me feeling all levels of happy. I love the texture of oil (after SO MANY YEARS of HATING oils). I love the smell (gorgeous rose). It felt so nourishing, and I applied it to my neck too (which I only realized recently has been super neglected).

It has rosehip and argan oil, which are super hydrating and revitalizing.  It’s also high in antioxidants. Plus that smell! Yum! It has vitamin E too, which is great for scar repair (one of the last things I’m working on with my skin). I also love how the ingredients are just straight up from nature’s garden.

It’s perfect for the winter and I love the energy of rose (aka vibration of LOVE). What could be better than loving your face with rose? Nothing.

I forget to tell you that not only the Hydrating Serum, but the Kelp Enzyme Mask are in BIODEGRADABLE packaging! I love when companies think through their production from beginning to end of its life. Even the ink is plant-based. Love it 🙂

All 3 products pair really well together to complete your skin care regime, so it’s an easy swap if you are looking for a safer skincare routine.
