BODY + LIFESTYLE

THIS BOOK is a staple for my own daily routine for shifting and clearing energetic blocks. It’s a perfect partner to the work I do with my clients also. You can also pick a page ‘at random’ to see what you need for your day (or night).

Similar to its prequel, I use THIS BOOK for clearing energetic blocks. I find this one to be more about collective and deeper energetic blocks, whereas the blue prayer book I find is more based on clearing the body and the initial layers of an issue. Hence, why I have BOTH!

THIS BOOK reads more like a manual and is perfect for getting in tune with your gut (the physical and more subtle aspects). It’s a favourite gift to my clients because it ties in so well with Joyful Body Method.

The 5 Minute Journal can really help you increase JOY and gratitude in just 5 mins of consistent daily journalling.

Believe it or not, THIS SPECIFIC STOOL (or this smaller size for narrow base toilets) is something that can put your intestinal tract into optimal position – one aspect of perfect poops!

A foundational piece of my own personal routine (and many of my clients) is a DRY SKIN BRUSH (like THIS one) for lymphatic drainage and detox.

BLUE LIGHT BLOCKERS help to block blue light (the spectrum emitted by electronics that interferes with your pineal gland’s production of sleep hormone).

The more yellow/amber the lenses, the more suited they are for evening use.

These earbud-style headphones are great for keeping EMFs off your body by using an ‘air tube’ for sound transfer (and it’s definitely a clear sound – without the weird static I was getting with my cord ones).

I have a few products from this company. I definitely notice the difference with how my cellphone and laptop feel. Plus, I have balancing products for larger spaces too 🙂

KITCHEN + HOME

The BEST blender is an immersion blender! I mean, we had a Vitamix and didn’t even use it because this is all you need – we don’t use the plastic attachments with this though. Get wide-mouth mason jars with this. (Bonus: You can prep your smoothie the night before in a jar and whip it up in the morning!).

Get THESE JARS with the hand blender. You’ll thank me later.

I’m telling you- just the bonus of individual smoothie prep, plus the fact it’s in GLASS and not plastic (like most other blenders) is worth it!

Non-stick coatings usually contain a nightmarish blend of chemicals!

THIS IS THE PAN WE USE when we need non-stick without the major chemicals known to be toxic.

THIS ONE is ALSO a GREAT OPTION

I recommend drinking vessels that are as non-toxic as possible. Glass being first choice.

THESE ARE MY FAV because they’re glass, but with a silicone wrapping (which has prevented mine from shattering on numerous occasions).

I may appear obsessed with glass everything, and you would be right.

There’s no better material for food storage, when you consider most materials leach toxic chemicals.
THESE ONES are a great option.

Okay, maybe I’m lazy, but these natural PRE-CUT PARCHMENT PAPER SHEETS are SO much easier and I don’t find it results in any waste (since I don’t waste sheets by cutting them terribly myself with those built-into-the box ‘cutters’ – or am I just not using them right?

This is hands down one of the BEST cleaners for tough jobs – kitchen and bath alike.

It will last for a long time and it’s super effective. Can’t say enough about it!

Quite possibly one of the most common toxic things in the home are dryer sheets.

Swap them for WOOL BALLS LIKE THESE. You can even add essential oils to them if you think you’ll miss the scent (Spoiler alert: The smell of essential oils is WAY better than chemical ‘rainforest’ scent).


WATER

Okay so this is something we dive much deeper into in the Joyful Body Method, but here are some of the water filtration systems I recommend. See this post here to get a better idea about why this is SUPER important (and should be one of your first swaps, in my opinion). Please note: Your requirement for different water may differ at different times. The following are what is most recommended from a low-toxicity perspective (though mineral status is also an important component too!).

This is a GREAT CHOICE for a reverse osmosis under the sink system.

This is a reverse osmosis system that will treat the water for the WHOLE HOUSE (ie. every tap, not just one, will have RO water).

Filtering your shower water is just as important as your drinking water! No joke! We absorb chlorine and other chemicals in water through our skin too, that impact our health.

I like the specific filtration medium called KDF – like THIS ONE HAS – it seems to be way more effective than just a charcoal-based filter.

Zero water removes lead, arsenic and so much more! It also removes basically all minerals (like most RO too), so you’ll need to replace with some QUALITY minerals. The type of minerals depends on the person, and I won’t make that note here, but feel free to reach out for more info!

Even though Zero Water is ‘BPA-free’ most of their jugs are still not glass, so I don’t recommend keeping water stored in it.

Ideally, use it to filter water, store it (empty) in the fridge – then pour the water into a glass dispenser for storage and use OR use THIS GLASS dispenser from Zero Water instead!

You’ll need to change your filters! Depending on your municipal water supply and how many people you have in your home, you may be going through these monthly (or they may last longer).

REFERENCES + RESOURCES

VIBRATIONAL MEDICINE is one of the first reads that helped me understand the connection between Quantum physics and “alternative energy” modalities.

I love that it uses science as the foundation. Still one of my faves!

I read this book THE FIELD after I had already come across these concepts, but I love how concise and impactful the information is put together.

Very good compilation of how Quantum physics should be a household name!

Dr. Bruce Lipton has such a humorous way of translating information. He is also excellent at metaphors to help us understand very complex topics, really easily.

If you believe in genetics (not epigenetic), then his work is a must-read. BIOLOGY OF BELIEF is a great one to dive into!

Dr. Siegel is one of the most gentle, and heart-centred souls. He is a gift to humanity. 

Seriously – his work with kids during most fearful times is heart-warming and life-changing. Check out LOVE, MEDICINE and MIRACLES HERE.

BREAKING the HABIT of BEING YOURSELF helps to understand the power of the mind and subconscious.

It teaches you how to break free from what we’re taught (that things are “set in stone”) and embrace the new science that shows you can re-create yourself by changing your thoughts and your habits.

WHEN THE BODY SAYS NO was one of the first books I read on the physical impacts of stress.

It was the spark that ignited my curiosity for how trauma is held in the body, and how important it is to address it.

This book is also an easy read (“The Body Keeps The Score” by Bessel Van der Kolk would be a more developed version of this).
